Hello,
Any recomendations as to a replacement radio that will fit the CE console with no cutting? I am trying to keep my car original, but I can't deal with the horrible sound of the Delco radio anymore!!!
Thanks,
Tom

I put in a Kenwood am/fm cassette with a 10 disc stacker in the rear. The Kenwood fits in with no modification. I also set a box in the rear with 2 - 6x9 Alpine speakers in it and a 250 watt amp mounted behind the box. This box just sits in the back and can be removed if need be as it is wired with a quick disconnect. The box is also notched over the 10 disc stacker which is mounted to the floor in back. This does take up about half of the room behind the seats but I had to have the tunes!

Most of the vette supply houses have the kenwood deck. It says "corvette" on the cassette door.

All this is simply set in or installed with no body modification. I have my original radio and it was an am/fm cassette/cb! I think only a 1000 or so had the cb so I'm hangin on to it.

Hi Auqila1,
That sounds like a nice set-up. I have used Kenwood home equipment and it is good stuff. Is your radio connected to the car's speaker wiring or did you run some wire to the back ? Also, did you set up your front speakers or is that not necessary?
Thanks,
Tom

Tom,
I actually had a stereo store "The Specialist" in Tucson run the wires for me. They did run new speaker wire to the front speakers also and installed new speakers as the old ones cones were shot. My original speakers in the rear are still there, just disconnected and I'm using the 6" x 9" 's in the box. Like I said, they ran the wires to the speaker box and installed a quick disconnect so that the box can be removed easily.
