Installing my Edelbrock performer RPM heads and found that neither my OEM knock sensor or the "other" coolant temperature sender by #3 plug fits the Edelbrock tapped holes-the holes are too big. Now, when I look in the shop manual there is *barely* any mention of the sensor by #3 plug. Appears to be a redundant temperature sender. I say redundant because there is already one on the intake manifold front???. What's the difference
between the two.....how do you test them (what's the resistance of the one on the left head)..... and how do I adapt them to the Edelbrock heads?
I could use a brass bushing, but that doesn't sound kosher on the knock sensor---does it?

Anyone recommend a plug for this head? Hey, I'm not greddy for info tonite, am I?

Bill

No help from me, other than to say that you will probably get a quicker answer on the Crossfire Forum.

Don't know if you got an answer yet but the sensor by the plug is for the auxiliary fan in front of the regular fan. The knock sensor should not be in the manifold it it below the second sensor just in front of the starter.
