Hello fellow owners, I'm thinking of trying to get as many 82CE's together as we can for a 25 year reunion. Chevy started building our cars in October 81, so officially some of our cars meet the anniversary standard already. Any interest in having one in Norther VA? Has anyone seen anything at the Museum or from Chevy wanting to do something? I am new to the whole thing but feel it is an important milestone for our cars and those who love them.

Jeff

I think that would be neat, but carefull what you wish for..

Seriously, i think it might be a good idea, but trying to herd a bunch of CE's into one area might be tricky, given we are spread far and wide.

I agree - it would be a great idea but as 82ColED said getting enough CE,s in one place could be tricky . The Museum would be the obvious place to do it . Maybe they would be up for hosting it with tours etc?
Lets see how many others think its a good idea.

Agree on both accounts. I would be willing to ride to the museum as it would be the obvious place for an anniversary. Maybe they could get those lost build sheets for those of us who could make the trip.

At a minimum we can have state ones and maybe have owners send in picks from their events. I know from the Northern VA area, there is no shortage of clubs. 8)

I'll keep checking back and start scouting around for ideas too.

Jeff

Many of you were not part of the old 82 CE Registry Website in 2001. At that time, with the assistance of the National Corvette Museuem, I initiated the 20th anniversary of the car with the first official event for the Collector Edition. We called it the "RENDEVOUS". We all had a great time, about 50 of us, with event T shirs and everything. On a personal note, my 82 CE was on the turnstile at the entrance of the museum for over 30 days. Kinda neat!

The museum would welcome the opportunity to feature the 82 CE once again, as I have already asked. It would probably be in conjunction with another event such as the C-3 Extravaganza. Of course the museum is in Bowling Green, KY, across from the Corvette Plant. If I was going to have a birthday celebration for a Corvette, it would be nice to do so where it was originally conceived!

Someone should set up a way to vote, on this site, and determine if this is an issue they would like for me to pursue. It would be my honor.

Thanks,

JohnnyB

Well you can count me in for one - I have been wanting to get down to the museum anyway - this is just the excuse I have been looking for.

Good afternoon. It is Thursday, January 4, 2007 and I was wondering if anything has been done to coordinate the 25th reunion for our cars? The 20th was a great event and I am sure the museum would have us again.

By the way, I could offer a few hours a week if some work needed to be done.

Regards,

gpip

No I don't think I have seen any action on this event yet. When I originally posted this I had about 3 people respond.

Maybe it is just doing it and getting the word out. Do you have a point of contact for the museum? When is the C3 event this year?

My club has planned some good runs this year if anyone is interested in meeting up on the east coast.

Right now I plan to celebrate by going to Carlsile in August and Ocean City, MD in October (my birthday weekend - how sweet is that?) .

I have not been to the museum and not sure I want to put that many miles on the car but hey it is true, you have to go back there once.

Ideas anyone??? Jeff

Your Classic Corvette Extravaganza event (former C3X) is on October 11th - 13th 2007.

Need to spread the word if you are going to get a good attendence. Most of the vette people go to an event during the summer.

Try Roc Linkov for the contact. roc@corvettemuseum.com
I'm sure. Especailly a 25th reunion of all the 1982's. 8)

If you need help in geting this started. Get two people that are willing to go and make them the offical collectors of our group. Noting that not a lot here says a whole lot. Just post some ideas and go from there. I do know that C3VR has a thread on something like this as well. Contact them to help.

Another might help. PM all the members here.

Thoughts!! :P

You can now vote on this reunion. I placed two options. If you have another thought let us know. :)
