Sorry Guys I haven't looked in a few days
My Bad.
Yes, I did paint the front grilles, then 3 coats of clear
even put clear over the yellow light to make them
scratchless and shine like new again. I'm in the
process now of changing out the 1156 bulbs to 19LED
bulbs to make them really shine and not get hot with
continuous use.
If I didn't tell you the grilles were metallic brown, I bet
you would never notice if you saw the car. They are kinda
low and in the shade and you would only notice they look
like they are wet. I'll take some pictures and let dawg post
them in a few weeks. I have a show coming up June24, and
will get all the bugs off and get the polished up.
I'm a detail nut, but I'll be the first to tell you there is no perfect
car. You have to give the illusion that it is perfect, but none are.
Go buy a new one and put it in a museum if you want perfect.
I just like details that other CE owners can find and then want to
know why the factory didn't do that to their cars.
Have a good one guys!
Steve

What is the difference between paint code B8311J and B8311K?

I know opening this debate again but I do have an original set of wheels that have never been painted. The color between the fins is a dark dark brown metallic. You would think it is black. The center caps and paint underneath is a lighter color. More of a sand color.

What is correct? I know there is debate but I've heard of wheels painted both ways.

I'm not sure about the differance of the two paint codes but I do know that the '82's didn't have metallic paint on any of the vette colors.

Yes you are correct about the caps. They are lighter color brown then the rims. Like the seat and door panal colors.

Someone else here should be able to help you out on the paint codes.

Great! That helps me greatly. Now if someone can just tell me the difference between the two paint codes and which one is for the wheels.

The paint code is B8311J is what I have on my list. I would go with that. I do believe others tried the B8311K and looks almost even.
