Just and update for those who might be interested. Member 1YY07 foud the part Workduds was looking for and sent it to him. He knows the 82 CE very well, and is able to find some parts when no one else can. As he says, "he has his sources". Great job ! JohnnyB The 82 |

I did not know a special tool was required to remove the CE center cap! What does it look like or does anyone have pics? I've cleaned mine out completely and I didn't see any tool (or jack/handle for that matter!) Someone let me know what I need to do!! bigdaddy |

Are there any members that have lower mileage CE's (i.e Complete!) have a center cap tool that photos & measurements could be taken of and posted on this site. I'm going to maybe try to fabricate my own. Thanks for any help- bigdaddy |

Yes , I have one of those tools ,came with the car when I bought it. located in the jack compartment behind the passenger seat. There is a spring holding the jack in place and it is kept wedged under the spring between the jack. I will take a photo soon (maybe tonight when I get home) and get my wife to post it. |

I took the picture, pretty good too, but do not know how to control the size of the image. Dawg posted the photos. Thanks! The tool is about six inches long. It normally resides on top of the jack assembly. Since we found this tool for WorkDuds, I thinks we can now find another. Great website! |

As for finding a center cap removal tool, your in the same boat with the rest of us, look in every pile of corvette stuff you see, at swap meets and junk yards. if you spot one, buy it! Don't ask how much, just pull out your wallet and lay down the cash. I'm sure finding one will be a miracle, and if you don't want it, buy it anyway because someone on here will pay you for it..... Also the sill plates are the same, there was no difference between the regular 82, and the CE... |

Did not find anyone at the Vett Fest who had one or even knew what it was. Will keep looking. It seems like it could be made without a lot of problem if one had the right equipment. |
