Does anyone have an extra set of red sidemarkers, or just the glass part, they dont need ? I am looking for cheap (ie. no cost, shipping only, $5 kinda thing) to have an extra set to be able to paint those black. Dont want to spend $25 a side when all i need is the glass and will paint it black anyway..

I need to do something in the future that requires them to be blacked out to pass inspection (Story will come soon, promise)...

Anyone ?

Thanks..

Do you need to temporally black them out for import, or is it going to need to be more permanent?

You could shrink wrap them like was suggested, or get some plexi glass cut to fit the opening and it will be easier to scuff and paint, mounting with the factory holes will work too...

Germany's laws are very strict, especially when it comes to non conforming rides.. When i had the car in Frankfurt, to pass inspection, they required the red side lights to be blacked out, so this might be a yearly thing. Law says that there cannot be any other color then yellow or clear on the side of the car.

But, last time, we would just swap the whole assembly (the car dealer would do inspection then and he had the blacked out set in the shop just for that purpose). This time i am on my own, sorta. But i know this is coming.. I might shrink wrap them, i might plunk down and waste some cash (call it part of moving.. :P ) and have my own set for inspection time. Technically, i would have to run them year round to be compliant, but hey.. Nothing like living on the wild side..

Btw, i might have to slap on the reflectors in the back too..
I had forgotten about them, but while digging through some stuff, i found my pics from when i had bought the car, and the reflectors are on the butt, just under the rear lights.. PUKE

Ah, it'll be fun,..,  :D
