I am looking for the white/beige plastic retainer that covers the temperature sensor directly below the Air Pump. It snaps into place. GM Part number beleived to be 12020495. New or used will do.

Thanks

I'm looking, but so far that part number is coming up as a dud.
Is this part of the wire plug that snaps onto the temp sender???

Look at these parts and see if it is close.

See if you can find any other part numbers to go with it....

No, neither of them are what I am looking for. The sensor screws into the block, just below the air pump. There are 2 wires connected to the sensor. To protect the sensor and the wires, there should be a white plastic part that snaps over the sensor and wires. It is three to four inches long and one end is shaped similar to a large nut. Most cars I look at do not have this part installed. The part number I mentioned may not be a good number, but now you know what I am looking for.

Thanks for the reply!

I'm going to send this to Marck (Twin Turbo), I think he has some of these little parts laying around, or he might be able to find you a correct part number....

I talked to Marck, he say's he has one buried in his storage somewhere, if he can find it, he will get in touch with you about getting it to you...

Let me know if you find one before then...

I was at the "Frosty Wheels" car show this weekend. My CE received the first place trophy for the class. A very honorable thing occured at the show. A consistent competitor, in a beautiful Silver Blue 82, was talking with me and learned that I needed the plastic temperature sensor cover. The next morning he presented me with one that he had in his shop. He wanted nothing for it, as he was just as intereseted as me, in seeing a complete 82 CE. God bless him. Thanks to all of you who looked for this part as well. Hope to see you all soon! As a reminder, the Southeast Chapter of the NCRS will have its yearly convention in Bowling Green, May the 12-14. Make your plans to see some nice cars, or have yours Top Flighted, if you are a registered NCRS member.

Keep Waving!
