I've got a good stereo(Kenwood)plays CD,MP3's,Sirruis radio, Also put in a lot better speakers. The problem is that I don't have enough bass.I don't need or want all that boom boom stuff.Just a nice bottom to fill out the music. The smallest one that I've found is a 6 inch that sounded good.it was built like a tube.I just don't like taking up valueable space. What have you all done? |

Several of the Corvette forum members have installed one of these... http://www.crutchfield.com/S-WvYZomPVWNw/cgi-bin/prodview.asp?i=113WA62RC They say it fits on the back wall, with room for the T Tops to still fit, and they are not monster booming woofers. Just enough sound to fill the cabin... This is what I plan on putting in one day. I have also seen them for sale on EBay for about $150.00 |

That looks the best I've seen!! Will I still have to get an amp? If so I was thinking of mounting it behind the seat. |

The WOOX I posted about is an all in one unit, it has a built in amp. You won't need to mount an external one. |

I lost my space but here's real bass! I still have my storage compartment area and I have the space on top of that and I can stuff things around this so it works to kinda hide things also to keep the car looking neat! Dawg Note: Look below... |

Like Steve, I also have had enough of the stock system - mine is not as radical as Steves, however it sounds great and makes the 82 a real joy to drive. I don't have photos to share like Steve of the finished work, however did install a Sony CD in the dash and 10-disk changer mounted to the underside of the passenger rear compartment lid. For the fronts, a small amp on top of the heater core housing under the dash with a Sony passive EQ that I can reach up under the dash to adjust, - JBL front speakers. For the rear, I did put in a set of 6x9s in enclosures driven by a 260w Sony amp that is tucked just inside the rear passenger compartment, and for the sub, a JL Audio W3 driven by a 420w Pioneer amp that is just behind the passenger seat, mounted to the front side of the compartment, covered with the stock carpet. Unfirtunately, I do not have room for the 82CE at our home in VA, and have it in storage near Carlisle, PA. I do have a photo of work-in-progress, however will get one of the finished product the next time I get to PA. Also, here are Steve's photos - Wow!!!! They are also posted on Steve's webpage http://www.corvetteaddiction.com/82ce/82ceowners_burges.htm Best Regards, Mark |
