A possible new member of our local corvette club has just bought a CE & was wondering about it's originality.
It has no rear opening hatch or evidence it ever did, no hinge openings, no cable release, nothing, its just like a normal 82.
The interior door panels are obviously repro's with WHITE stitching & the stripes are the wrong shade.
The carpet is correct but faded
All the interior panels have been died but in a creamy tan(ish) colour.
The exterior fade graphics have been painted on but the pin stripes are decals.
It has a steel multi leaf rear spring but then again it may have gymkahana suspension.
The VIN # looks right but the tag is rusty & looks to have been re-rivoted since the rivots a nice & shiny.
The VIN is 1G1AY0788C5107676. Can some maybe run a carfax or what ever & shine a bit of light on its history.
EDIT: the trim tag on the drivers side says :
C03A 107676
591 59L 59U
It seems ok but also looks like it was reattached !!
TIA

You may want to pull the int halo panels and see if it ever had the hinges installed. or the rear int shelf and look to see if the other hardware was ever installed. Serial # should also be on the frame.
