Unfortunately I'm not a moderator here anymore. I have emailed Mark several times about this guy. He keeps deleting him, but I guess he doesn't check this forum daily....

Since I don't come here daily anymore either, one of you guys should start letting Mark know when he pops up...

Sounds like a reasonable idea.

I'll see if Mark wants to have a spam alert thread to minamize these threads. Sound good.

Agreed this is getting out of hand... so here's what I've implemented....

1) I've ensured both Dwayne and Mike both have Moderator control over the forum.
2) I've restricted guests from the ability to post without being a registered member
3) I've forced all forum applicants to be screened prior to being allowed membership on the site. I'll personally screen each application and contact the administrator of the originating IP address

I'll do some checking on other forums to see if they've experienced the same issues, and see if there are any reasonable solutions....

Will be checking more often...... and please feel free to shoot me an email if there are any issues.....

Best Regards,

Mark

Hey Mike, congrats on making moderator status... What are you gonna do with your first paycheck????

Mark, You should have the option to add extra fields to the registration page, I would suggest a field that requires the entry of a CE vin. You should even be able to control the frame of the digits entered to allow only actual numbers entered within the CE vin range... (ie...only verifies numbers between 10000 and 50000) whatever the CE vin range is....

At least the spammer would have to do some research to find a legitimate vin...
Others that don't have a CE can email their reason for signing up!

BTW, this is just proof that you can sell your CE, but your heart never gives it up.... I'm still here to bug you guys, and now I'm even back to being a moderator.... 8)

The forum software was upgraded to the latest version today, which fixed a minor security vulnerability. Hoax registrations continue, however none will become members without my action.... so far, so good!
