Phew... I went through a long digging for that one.. I'm getting old:

I believe it is called: Air Cleaner (or) Air Intake Scoop Door (or) Hood Scoop Door..

And i think this is one place (Call them before you buy!):

As for install: I'll dig through the Shop Manual tonight and see if they have anything pertaining. If i remember correctly, it isnt a big deal. Couple of rods, the door, the solenoid..

Someone pls correct me if i am on the wrong path here..

It's actually called a "Hood Louvre Door" (Yes, i am getting old. )..

From the manual: The hood louvre is a solenoid relay and air induction duct controlled by the ECM... Pic 6E-39 is the troubleshooting for the solenoid (Let me know if you need me to snap a pic of that too).. There is also a relay shown, bolted to the MAP Sensor, called Hood Louvre Relay...

Here are 2 pics from the Shop Manual, sorry about the quality, have to take them without flash, the kid's snoozing already.

I hope this helps..

Glad i was able to help, thats what we're here for..

Sorry i missed the additions in your post above.

The pics above are basically the only thing of the louvre in there, and the book is called: 1982 Shop Manual

I also have a Factory Assembly Manual but the louvre wasnt in there as clearly. My first choice is always the shop manual, as they have trouble shooting in there. For a non car tech like me a real help. It's red with a 1982 vette on the front, and a big white stripe on the side.
