We have new seats coming for our CE and plan to recolor all of the hard interior vinyl when we do the seats, but we just discovered that the dash is a different color than the rest of the interior.

At first, we assumed that the dash had been replaced with the close 'silver green' color, buth then I saw photos of super low mileage CE's with the same mismatched dash color.

Is the factory CE dash really slightly mismatched to the rest of the interior?

The part of the dash where your guages and radio and down through the shifter area is a dark brown. The area where your defrost vent is also the same color brown. The dash surround is a light tan with the steering wheel being a dark brown.Hope this helps.

Thanks Copter, but what I'm looking for is the correct color of the dash vinyl.

It is definately silver/something. The question is did the factory substitute a silver/green or is it just a bad color match to the rest of the interior.

Researching these cars is kind of fun and kind of frustrating at the same time.

Your dash is the same color as your interior and exterior - Silver Beige. The top of the dash were the speakers are and touches the windsheild are black color.

Thanks guys,

This weekend , we recolored everything with the correct color except the dash.

http://www.thecubestudio.com/pictures/V ... rtsWeb.jpg

It seems a previous owner had used plain silver to recolor the pieces around the windshield and the kick panels, so the contrast with the dash was obvious.

If the contrast is still great, we'll assume that the dash was replaced somewhere along the way with a close, but not exact color.

Thanks!
