Well, this is my first post.?? It looks like you guys are the group I'm looking for. The right mix of tech and common sense. And a chance to buy and or sell some parts maybe? Test some opinions and see if I'm among like minded or not. Looks like some pretty radical restorations too.

I have only two problems: One concerns the rear hatch and is pretty well covered in the threads except mine just doesn't line up with the latch properly and the cylinders are shot but looks like a solution is coming?

The other is the timer / switch for the courtesy lights and the theft system. I have had it out once and just put it back as GM doesn't sell it anymore. Seems like it may end up being something I fix myself (or buy from the dreaded Eckler's) but if anyone else has had any experience with it I would like to hear about it.

Only two problems with my Collector that is!!

Thanks

Welcome to the CE registry, the more the merrier...

If you only have 2 problems with your vette, your doing pretty good. There's some great members here, and we also visit the crossfire forum for plenty of technical information about our corvettes.
Here's a link:

Thanks for all the above!

Due to some email generated I may have one problem solved already.

Checked out the Arizona Corvette Enthusiasts site too, very nice.

Welcome blondecollector..

Sounds like you got a great CE there.. If i had only 2 problems, i'd be lucky.. The older those things get..
I hope you put your info into the registry, adding one more to the bunch of survivors after 24 years.. How did you get your car ? Did you recently buy it ? As the Dawg said: Great bunch of guys and gals here with lots of help.. Feel free to ask any question.. I'm known for asking the dumb ones so i can feel better..

Well Stefan, I got the car in 2000 from a guy who wasn’t getting what he wanted from a dealer he was buying a millennium convertible from (surprise). I have put about 5000 mi on it and three brake calipers. They don’t like sitting in the garage! Other than that not much but nice rides……… I bought a set of seat covers cause the driver side is split a little but haven’t gotten to that yet, it’s not noticeable.

So far I’ve just been enjoying the ride…..

DON'T get the rear struts from Ecklers.Thet don't fit good and they have way to much lift power.Your back glass will slam open and do damage to your hinges. Those are not being repoed. And don't bother with the used hinges on ebay. They will end up being no better than yours.Once they spread out your screwed.
