Post subject:  Get a Copy of Original Dealer Invoice for your car...

Hello all..
Yesterday, i finally got a copy of the Original Dealer Invoice for my 82CE from GM's Media Archive after someone posted the info on the other website i belong to http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com. I have asked if i am allowed to share the info with you guys and gals in case you are interested in getting one yourself. The answer (drumroll please): Yepper...

Stefan,
Your are very welcome! Feel free to share information about our service.
The Media Archive is a collection of historical images and footage dating
back to the early 1900s. The invoice collection is just the tip of our
iceberg! Some of our best images are on the website noted below. However,
regarding the invoice collection, we currently do not charge for the
service. However, management is making preparations to begin charging in
the near future. I do not yet have a date that it will take effect. Again,
thank you for your interest in GM products!

I do want to ask one thing of you before I give you the information. Please, Please, Please promise me you will fill out the customer service form that comes with your dealer invoice and return it promptly. There is plenty of room to write some additional information on the front and back of the form as well. It is extremely important that we let GM know how much we value this service and would like to see it continue and be built upon (this is a $ looser for them). Also, please say some kind words about Peggy Vezina. She is the person who will be doing this research for you. It's a one woman operation and she is working very hard on our behalf.

Now for what you have been waiting for....................................

For an original copy of your Corvette dealer invoice or ANY other GM car or truck 1977 to present, send an email to one of the following email addresses. I sent mine directly to Peggy. You MUST have the correct VIN (please triple check it before requesting the information) and provide the year, make and model of your vehicle as well as your full address. Oh, one last thing............it's free!

GMMA.research@gm.com OR peggy.vezina@gm.com

It might take some time for this info to arrive, but i think it's awesome. So get yours while they're still free of charge..

And with the info, i found out my car went to a dealer in MI first.. Now i got a starting point to trace the car..

Thanks for posting it here, this has been achieved by one of the members of the Corvette Forum,(I cant remember his name right now) he spent more than a year getting the info, and contacts to make this work.

Some of the CF members are already receiving their invoices. so this does work.

Sure thing, y'all.. Warning though: GM is going to charge (i believe $65) from now on, giving it's such a popular service.. I wouldnt care, that one sheet confirmed what my car was built as, with options and all. And what dealer it went to first. 8)

Basecar: There was a built date calculator from the vin# if i remember correctly.. Cant think of the website right now, if i remember, i'll post it..
Mine wasnt much off, a couple of days, but you never know, the car might have sat for a bit. Mine is a June built and it was delivered in June.. Cant say i blame 'em..
